Sometimes you stumble upon a way to make your art work more precise. Out of sheer frustration, I discovered that I like brush number 4 when painting faces or oil paintings that require a bit more detail. The key is to use a stiffer tipped brush and very little paint. You can draw lines this way and control the texture of the paint used.

How to Remove Oil Paint from Your Skin
I discovered an easy way to remove oil paint from your skin in a way that actually leaves your skin feeling softer and healthier. The secret is coconut oil. Just put it on your skin and the paint washes and glides off with a towel. It is so much easier and healthier for your skin than soap and water. Try it.
Oh I found the book that discusses all of the health benefits of coconut oil. Here it is:
And here is a less expensive version of coconut oil you can buy online:

Oil Paint and Toothbrush Art
Today’s art experiment was to see how I could use a toothbrush with oil paint. I swirled the brush in green and blue paint and made the top of a tree. It has a swirly lighter look to it than using a paint brush, is easy to do and is very inexpensive – no special tools required. Try it for yourself.

Oil Paint and Champagne Corks?
This video shows how I made my latest oil painting with the use of a simple champagne cork. It was easy.
What you need:
1) canvas paper
2) oil paint and something to put it on
3) a simple champagne cork
Put the different colors that you want to use on a smooth surface. Take the cork and pat it into the paint. Swirl colors together if you like. Then pat and swirl the cork on to your canvas paper. You can make tons of these pieces in minutes and they are just plain fun to make.
You may even consider doing this project with kids. Just make sure to get everything in non toxic versions, especially the cleaners, and supervise them throughout the process.

Art Blog – Latest Piece Flower Bomb
Today’s Art blog project ended up with the name Flower Bomb because to me it looks like it is exploding. I was basically playing around with color, texture and a plastic knife. Here is how I ended up with this piece.
1) I spread on a color that I liked.
2) I spread another color over it.
3) I used the plastic knife to scrape the top layer off with a slashing motion so that the underlying color came through.
4) I then used the knife to define the outline of the basket.
It was pretty easy. If you get a chance, play around with this. You never know how it will turn out and you will have a lot of fun in the process.

Here are my latest two art pieces
I am experimenting with using the spatula with my art pieces. Try it. It is a lot of fun. You just squeeze out some color on a canvas or draw something and then use a spatula to spread out the paint. It is amazing what comes out of these unplanned art pieces.

Orlando Art Experiment – New Oil Paintings
Here are the newest pieces that I have come up with. One I think is ok and the other I actually like. It always feels better when I just wing it instead of planning the oil painting. I am having a bit of difficulty getting the depth and distance right in the ridge piece so I will do some research on that tonight.
